My Story

After starting my journey by recording my own music as well as my friend's bands on 8-track reel-to-reel recorders as a teenager, I moved on to study Audio Engineering before building Northern Lights recording studio - a commercial recording studio in the nineties - developing and creating my own unique sound. Fast-forward to now, I have the working knowledge and understanding of what a perfect studio should be all about... Rolladoor Studios offers a relaxed vibe, with no pressure, providing high-quality recording services to musicians and artists.

Rolladoor Studios is located on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast and is owned and operated by Richard Baker. A musician himself - playing drums, bass, and guitar for working bands across Australia and with over 35 years of experience in sound engineering and production - Rich has finetuned his unique style over the decades... from the good old days of analogue tape machines (yes, it's true - cutting the tape with a razorblade was how edits were done) to today's latest digital recording techniques. Rich has an uncanny ability to make you feel at ease and offers a wealth of  knowledge to get the best results for your creative vision.

Whether you're a solo artist or a full band we have the tools and expertise to help you create your best sound ever! Richard works closely with his clients to understand their vision and brings it to life through his unique expertise... and all at a reasonable cost! Rolladoor Studios also offers remote stem mixing and mastering, in fact, Richard is always on the lookout for up-and-coming local bands to work with and wants to get you on the road to success.
